Sad to hear this :-( just before Christmas. Do you think it was done intentionally (2 legged creature egging on a 4 legged creature) or just by a wild creature?

I'd hate to have to deal with the aftermath!

Sorry that this is probably not the best place for these but I couldn't find a contact address.

I'm sure you must be aware of the problems experienced by allotment holders last year due to the use of manure contaminated by a persitent herbicide called aminopyralid. Information has been collated about this problem from the links on this page http://www.glallotments.btik.com/p_Contaminated_Manure.ikml
Just to update on the latest re aminopyralid contamination in case you would like to provide updates on your website or to allotment holders in your area.

The latest infomation re manure contamination is posted on my website here http://www.glallotments.btik.com/p_herbicide_latest.ikml
I have also sent out a email for circulation by everyone I know that has been affected which is here http://www.glallotments.btik.com/attachments/contaminated_manure_alert.pdf which you may find useful to circulate to allotment holders in your area.

It is particularly important that gardeners be aware of the need for caution when obtaining manure in light of the fact that the government are now considering reinstating the licence that was temporarily suspended last year. As this is a concern to many gardeners you may wish to publicise an a epetition that has been started here http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/aminopyralidban/

I am posting updates as I get them on my blog http://glallotments.blogspot.com/ just on case you want to keep a watching brief.

The best thing to do if you can is moving the run every so often. You can buy or make portable runs with wheels on. If not, it is easy to rake out every few days and sprinkle with lime (the sort used on brassica plants). This absorbs some of the acidity and stops it smelling awful.

Have fun!

Hello - a bit new to chickens... just wondering, how do you keep your run from smelling and flies? do you rake it out daily, weekly? what if anything do you put on the soil? thank you.

When I tried to get some, I was told they were out of stock due to excessive demand... I really hope those that ordered multiple packs don't get them, depriving others of the benefit.

Hi, Most seed can be kept for a few years. The only seed I know of that defiantly doesn't keep is parsnips.

Good luck and have fun!

Mine arrived this morning. I ordered them before Gardeners world was screened and had given up hope on them arriving. I only got one packet of Tomato, you must have been very lucky to get two.

I'm looking forward to growing the squash, I already have plenty of Tomato plants for this year. Can you keep the seed for the following year?

It's a horrible situation and I really feel your lost. It's disappointing on so many levels but utterly and thoroughly disgraceful if there's been any human intervention in this. Setting one animal against another is disgusting not to mention unlawful.

Keep your head up and shoulders straight, you have plenty to be proud of.
