Maintain A Good Laying Flock

Just been reading on the Smallholder website and found the tips below about keeping a good laying flock of hens (but it applies to all laying fowl really).

Healthy birds.
Clean birds and housing.
No external or internal parasites.
Good quality feed appropriately fed.
Possibly use additives especially in times of stress or cold weather.

Chicks Hatch!

After 20/21 days of incubation, we have had 4 Sussex chickens hatch!
2 Light Sussex and 2 Buff Sussex.
